Can I take the Prenatal Multivitamin if I’m not yet pregnant, or no longer pregnant?

Yes. Our prenatal multivitamins are safe to take even when you aren’t pregnant. Many women choose to start taking them before they become pregnant, in order to better prepare their bodies for the nutritional demands of pregnancy. Many women also choose to continue taking their prenatal vitamins after the baby is born, to support their postpartum recovery and help meet the nutritional demands of lactation. We also offer a postnatal multivitamin that is specifically designed for post-pregnancy needs.

What’s the difference between the prenatal and postnatal multivitamins?

Your body has different nutritional needs during pregnancy and post-pregnancy. Our Postnatal Multivitamin is designed to help meet the high nutritional demands of lactation and support your recovery from pregnancy and labor. We also included a blend of organic herbs that have traditionally been used to help boost milk supply.

Why is DHA important for pregnancy?

DHA is an omega-3 fatty acid that plays a key role in the early development of your baby’s brain, eyes, and nervous system during pregnancy and early infancy. Since DHA is mostly found in fish, many pregnant women don’t get enough DHA in their diet, especially if they are vegan or vegetarian.
